Overcast and cloudy, the heat was suddenly turned up during the Ice Blast event, where dragons chewed firestone and blasted their ice targets to pools of water. For some, it took a while to melt those glacier chunks of ice, for others it seemed like a breeze. The competition was fierce! F'yr and G'tor squared off, selected for the efficiency round. G'tor was the victor and scored a point for Fort. Next was A'di and V'ine, to see who could melt the ice with the least amount of times flamed. V'ine's brown walked with the point for Ista. But it came down to the sudden death match, between Weyrleader X'hil and Weyrleader Ma'kai. Their lifemates, Kinseth and Garanth, were evenly matched. It was a close competition with many in the crowd yelling and screaming for their favorite to win. But in the end, Kinseth showed his power and helped Ista gain another three points!
The final tally for the Winter Cup was 7 to 2, for Ista! Congratulations!
