By now the news that Miraneith was not the only one knocked up the night of her maiden flight has no doubt spread around the Weyr — and the reason for Enka's late afternoon trip to the infirmary months ago is now apparent.
But a bun in the oven isn't the only thing the junior seems to be sporting lately. A courier rider brought her a package and a letter recently — contained therein was a badge and knot, making Enka an Apprentice in the Bakercraft. Her speciality is naturally desserts — particularly bubbly pies! — and occasionally, she might be found in the kitchens after the day's work is done or up early before the sun, whipping up treats. And she always seems to be in the company of that one blue weyrling an awful lot (when he's not needed for lessons or caring for Inizituth) — but considering that L'nan is a Journeyman in the Bakercraft … could he be her Craft mentor of a sorts? Why else could he possibly be spending so much time with her?
