It's that time again! A warm breeze is blowing on Ista's shores and all are welcome to come and participate in this Summer's Weyr Games! Though the primary contestants are Ista and Fort Weyrs, anyone is welcome to come and support either side.
The opening ceremonies will occur starting 7 pm EST on Thursday Martch 18th in Ista's Southern Bowl (@tel #3560). Fun, food, and drink will be provided and catered by Ista's lovely staff.
The first competition will occur on Friday March 19th at 7 pm EST: /Dodgeball/ on the beach! Istan and Fort teams will face off in a ball-hurling battle. The last one standing, or the member of the surviving team who scored the most hits against their opposition, will be eligible to claim a prize during the awards ceremony. No dragons on the dodgeball court, please! The game will be followed by drinks and snacks in Ista's living caverns.
The next day's events will be held on Saturday March 20th at 5 pm EST in Ista's Southern bowl. This will be a team obstacle course event for one dragonpair and one non-rider working in tandem to complete the course as quickly as possible. The winning team will be eligible for a prize at the awards ceremony as well. Afterwards, Headwoman Channa has agreed to break out some of the aged brandy (and fruit juices for the kids, of course) and whip up a succulent meal on the beach.
Closing Day's event is a classic: Mock Threadfall. Once again in the bowl, at 4 pm EST on Sunday March 21st, Fort and Ista's fighting wings will compete to protect the ground as their ancestors did so long ago. This event is limited to dragonpairs (ooc: npcs welcome) and the rider whose dragon chars the most thread in the skies is eligible for a prize at the awards ceremony as well. Approximately a half-hour after the end of the event, a bonfire will be lit on Ista's beach for a feast and the awards ceremony. All participants are eligible to win a prize, but only one Weyr can deck the other in its colors. So come out to play and try to win the games for your favorite Weyr!
