Description
If it wasn't for the obvious womanly attributes, people might confuse Orva for a boy. She's not one for putting on airs, makeup, or making herself 'pretty'. Whatever she is naturally is what she is every day. Thick black hair tops her head, constantly scrapped back from her face, and she has darkly tanned skin. Here and there are scars, healed over and similar enough in color to her normal skin to hint at being old. Her eyes are dark brown, nearly black, and they're quite expressive especially when paired with her thick brows. Besides these qualifying factors, she's got a hooked nose, a wide mouth, and a rounded face.
The rest of her is an odd combination of skinny and curvy - her silhouette is technically slender, muscled, but she's gold the usual roundness to both bosom and hips. She's of average height, and she likes to wear baggy clothes that don't show off her assets at all.
History
Orva grew up in the caverns of Ista Weyr and knows it like the back of her hand. She's the product of a young girl swept up in flight lust and a much older brownrider. Her mother carried to her term with grand notions of having a loving mother-child relationship, but the world got the best of her and soon after her daughter was born, she found herself too taxed to spend any meaningful time with her. But her father, S'vin, chose to visit her on those occasions when he could spare the time. Otherwise, she ran underfoot with the rest of the weyrbrats.
She stood for the first time when she was fourteen, having high hopes of becoming a dragonrider like her father. Disappointed with the results of having not Impressed, she grew distant and jaded. Two more times she stood after that, still with lackluster results, and each rejection made her more hard and cold. No jobs became her, nothing held her interest, save for the occupation of a dragonrider. Now that she's eighteen, she's given the prospect of Impressing one more shot, hoping that this time will be her triumph.
