With all the new faces coming from all corners of Pern, it's perhaps to be expected that those more familiar faces would be passed by during the gossip.

• Pallifa has been Standing since she was fourteen, now just short of thirty Turns, the woman is taking Miraneith and Ittisieth's Clutch as her last chance to Impress.
• Jammar is Pallifa's son. Twelve Turns old, the boy was just Searched for the Clutch. He is prone to pranks and was seen during previous Candidacies to be slipping out of the Barracks with a claim that he was changing the glows only for someone to later discover tunnelsnake skills beneath the pillows or broken eggs rotting beneath the cots. Some claim that is why Pallifa decided to Stand one last time, to keep a close eye on her offspring. Then again, nothing had ever been _proven_.
• Sixteen Turn old Haspar finally returned to Ista after a long tour at Landing, attempting to discover ways to make the available technology faster, smaller and more easily reproduced. He was asked to Stand by a bluerider a sevenday before he was set to go back and resume his studies. After speaking to his parents (both residents of the Weyr) the young man agreed that Candidacy would be a break, a chance to socialize and a unique experience.
