It seemed like a normal day around Ista Weyr. But when several Weyr support staff began setting up some straw targets in a non-flammable pocket of the Bowl, it became an indication that today would be anything but normal. It wasn't long until the Istan Senior Weyrwoman and the current gold weyrling emerged from the tunnels, each toting a flamethrower.
Target practice it seemed was in order, and after a brief demonstration from the Weyrwoman, Enka settled right into the very enjoyable immolation of the straw targets. She appeared to have a wonderful time doing it. Which raises the question of whether or not the Weyr's newest goldrider is a pyromaniac at heart — or if it's just part of her charm as a former Weyrbrat.
Her fellow weyrlings however can rest assured that they won't have to share the barracks with someone who might torch them in their sleep. In the interest of avoiding accidents and possible crispy fried firelizard corpses, Enka's flamethrower is safely locked in the meeting chamber.
