On the tenth day of the first month of spring, inhabitants at Ista Hold were surprised out of bed by an earthquake. The tremors were felt far along the island, even at the Weyr, and have put residents and riders on alert. With part of the Search and Rescue Wing still recovering from fighting the fire in Western, the Weyr finds itself understaffed in riders at a time when they are suddenly needed and forcing other riders to pull double duties. Miners have informed the Weyr of several collapsed tunnels, but the day was too early for anyone to be down there. Cotholds were shaken up but have yet to report any problems. Overall, no casualties besides a few bumps and bruises for now. Residents were asked to keep indoors in the extreme case of a tsunami, though most on the isle have already put off the earthquake as just a passing tremor.
