Description
Senia is a tall slender woman who appears to be about 6' in height. She is fairly proportionate in build for her height. She has one of those indistiguishable hair colors that looks blonde in some lights and dark blonde to brown in others. Her hair is straight with wispy bits in the front that tend to go curly in humid weather. Her hair is kept down to just below the shoulders and is often tied up with a dolphin-blue ribbon. She has an average complexion that is neither deeply-tanned nor can it be considered pale making her more prone to sunburn. And even if she does tan it's only slight just enough to make it obvious when she blushes. She has a slim face with well-spaced large, round hazel eyes surrounded by blondish eye lashes which are almost hard to see. She has a long straight nose and dimples that appear in her cheeks when she smiles.
Senia is currently wearing a knot done in a double cord of dolphin-blue and white tied into a triple loop over her shoulder with a silver tassle indicating her rank as a Master Dolphineer of the DolphinCraft. She also wears a second knot done up in a double cord of purple and white in a single loop, ending in a long tail with a single tassle of purple indicating her secondary rank of Sr. Journeyman Healer and Hall Healer for the DolphinCraft.
Senia is currently wearing the uniform of a Master Dolphineer/Dolphinhealer. On her torso, she wears a dolphin-blue jacket made of a soft fine leather and long sleeves. The edges of the jacket are done in the trim and detailed knotwork as her pants and her knot. Her very detailed Master's knot is worn on the right shoulder. Below the jacket is a white shirt that is functional and not fancy. She also wears a pair of dolphin-blue pair of pants, down the legs is a continuation of the very same details as those of her knot.
History
Born at Paradise River Sea Hold to two Masters, her mother, Sonia was a Master Dolphineer and her father, Ahlron was a Master Seacrafter. Senia entered Pern under very unusual circumstances indeed. At the time of her birth, her parents were with her father's ship in port at Paradise River Sea Hold. Her father's trip to the Hold was to deliver some livestock to the hold. Her mother was posted on board the ship as she was doing some research with some of the local dolphin pods with their linguistics. Her mother, a fairly heavy-set woman had been unaware of her pregnancy and of course her size and all was good for concealment of the pregnancy. Her mother was busy in the hold of the ship helping with the feeding of the livestock upon their arrival when she started to get bad cramps. Her husband worried about her and sent one of the other crewmembers in search of the hold healer. The hold healer returned with the crewmember, upon examination it was found that it was contractions that her mother was having and quite strong ones. And indeed the first time mother and father were shocked to learn the news. So in the hold of the ship was where Senia entered into the world as quite a shock to her parents.
Despite being an unexpected surprise as a baby, her parents loved her dearly and doted on her being the oldest of 5 children. She spent most of her childhood aboard the ship her parents were crew on and learned a lot about the sea as well as both Dolphin and Seacraft from her parents. She was a happy child for the most part till when travelling to Tillek Hold, her parents main posting. At age 12, she decided to stay at Tillek Hold, her parents' homeport and become an Apprentice Dolphincrafter with her parents' permission at the Dolphincraft Hall. She was a very studious young girl and didn't hesitate to work her hardest at learning everything that was taught her and more.
Two turns later after she joined the Dolphincraft, not long after her youngest sibling was born, something horrible happened. A storm came upon her father's ship quickly and with the high winds and rough sea, it was a trip that Senia's father would never forget neither would she or her siblings. The kids of the crew were sent below deck as their parents helped to try to secure the sails and decks. A large crash of a wave swept the deck of the ship with its fury and claiming some of the crew as it left. One of the crewmembers lost to the storm was Senia's mother leaving her dolphin, Oka partnerless.
Upon her father's return to Tillek Hold, Senia was given the news that her mother had died in the storm. Senia was devastated for a period of time. Her siblings were fostered to relatives. Her father took a leave his ship staying moored in port and the Master focusing on simply teaching. Senia kept herself busy with her studies and surprising many of the journeymen and masters as she walked the tables to Journeyman at 18 turns and was chosen as a partner to a partnerless young female dolphin named Keiko. She had chosen Dolphinhealing as a specialty, which came as no surprise to most as she seemed to have a natural ability for it and seemed to enjoy it the most of all the classes she took as an apprentice.
Over the turns from 18 on, she spent time posted to several sea holds including Paradise River Sea Hold, though she returned around 24 turns to the main Hall with Keiko to work on her Mastership in Dolphinhealing and working out of the infirmary till she had completed her Mastership. It wasn't long after her return to the Hall that her dolphin partner, Keiko got sick and passed away. She was torn up by the loss of Keiko and focused mainly on moving up in rank and took her last walk from the Journeyman table to the Master's table on her 30th turnday. She remains partnerless to this day though as she is starting to finally move on from the loss, she debates the hope of finding a new partner, maybe another young female dolphin that will fill the gap she lost in her friendship with her previous partner. She has become one of those more well-respected Dolphinhealers in the craft.
