L'da

Description

Lyda is a fairly tall young woman, perhaps two or three inches shy of six feet. She's around seventeen turns old, perhaps one or two older. She's fairly thin and willowy, obviously not the sort that works hard physically on a daily basis. Her skin is quite pale, suggesting that she doesn't spend all that much time outside the caverns, either. Her light skin clashes dramatically with her deep brown eyes, and her hair has been dyed a very bright color of purple. Her hair is straight, and hangs free just a few inches below her shoulders. Although she is quite thin for her height, she does have the expected feminine curves in the right places, although they are rather modest. Most of the time she has the same neutral expression on her face, her lips in the slightest of frowns. She's wearing more makeup than most girls: her eyelids are coated in deep blue eyeshadow, her lashes are black and thick, and she wears purple lipstick, the same color as her hair.

History

Known to be one of the more reserved weyrbrats around western weyr, Lyda is the daughter of one of the weyr's greenriders, Ella, and a posted senior journeyman from the healer hall. She's the youngest of three siblings, her brother R'di is a brownrider at Xanadu weyr, and Adelle, the middle child, tends to the weyr's gardens. Those who know the family agree that Lyda takes after her father more than either of the other siblings, being much more serious and reserved than her fairly bubbly mother. While she declined to directly follow in her father's footsteps and join the healercraft, she does take her studies seriously, and aspires to be one of Pern's great new generation of artists. She's most often found hiding in the corner in the caverns, quietly sketching something on a pad of paper she'll defend with her life.
