Gossip has been floating around recently, regarding the Sable Sands. Whispers that they've been too lax in their checking of ages. It came to a head when a fourteen-turn-old weyrling was discovered to be drunk.
Said weyrling was ordered to repeat weyrlinghood, with added chores, and report to the weyrleaders the next morning. Next morning's meeting ended abruptly, with the weyrling making a run for the infirmary, looking rather distraught about something.
The Weyrleader emerged some time later looking most annoyed, and marched directly to the Sable Sands, a man on a mission. Few people were in the sands at the time, as it was shortly before lunch time, but, by lunch, the Sable Sands was no longer serving alcohol.
Rumours also tell of a few riders who'll procure drinks from out of Weyr, for a price, but they're hushed, and fear getting back to the Weyrleader's ears.
